Wish & Brunch

I had a good week at work: great mexican food at South Park, happy hour at Pete’s, productive work days, and some exciting opportunities that may be popping up. I’ll say more when I can.
Spent Friday night at Wish, which is a lounge bar down in the mission. Aside from the loud music, I really loved the place—red lamps and leather bench seating. It was way better once the big crowd cleared out. Walked around the area after that, had a 2nd dinner at Mel’s Diner, and ended the night at my place to watch a movie. It was a late night but good times.
Walked about the next morning in search of the perfect brunch location. Nob Hill Grille was the spot. It was scrumptious. I had Breakfast Sliders, which were basically yum brioche rolls with sausage, scrambled eggs, and cheese on them. They were picture worthy. Classy presentation. The waitress was possibly French. Come to think of it, I think I’m gathering that more from her wearing a red/white striped shirt than her accent. A picture’s worth a 1000 words right? Anyway, it was a great classy/casual place. Good stuff.
Sadly, the line for the Found Footage Festival was so long that the doors shut with about 30 of us still hoping to get in. Bummer. But I got to walk around Cole Valley and see the famous hardware store and discover a cheese shop where I will go when I feel more financially stable heh. I could really go for some good cheese.
I’ve listed up a bunch of places I want to explore around the city. Once I get moved to my new place, most my worries should go away so I can relax and explore. I’m getting more excited about my choice of neighborhoods, despite the number of people who have turned there nose up at the mention of “marina”. Maybe I’ll start reading books again. I can walk down to the water (a block away) or I can go for a stroll over to the palace of fine arts or get some seafood at fisherman’s warf. And apparently the grocery store 2 blocks away is right on the water and a pick-up place for the sailors. I’ll have to wear my heals.
I really need to take a photo adventure. I haven’t taken pics since I got here (really feels like less of need since I live here, you know?). The inspiration just hasn’t struck yet either. I feel so at home here that I’ve sort of lost touch with my wide-eyed curiosity. I may be getting to take pics at work though. Not sure any details on that, but there’s definite fun potential.
Anyway, it feels like it’s 7pm but it’s only 2. I think that’s because I mistakenly ate lunch at like 10. My entire sense of time is skewed, so it’s looking like a 2pm dinner for me. Today’s not gonna be healthy eating. I’m postponing buying groceries til I move in the next day or two. And I should have pots & pans by sometime next week and I can finally cook/bake. At last.
