It’s been a pretty fun week. Thursday, Tyler may have launched the funniest mediasauce story of the year. It’s all the rage around the office, and I feel it deserves permanent documentation here. I’ll try to recount it as he tells it. It’s gonna lose something in text though.

The last time I took my dog to get bathed, I took him to my parents. As soon as we pulled in, he jumped out and ran straight in to a retention pond. So as I was driving him back after this bath/groom, I was thinking to myself, “Thank goodness I’m not going to my parents.” Then I smelled it. I was like “Ernie, did you fart?”. Then I turned around and it was explosive diarrhea and it was going EVERYWHERE. I started screaming “Ernie, stop!!! Ernie, no!!!” He looked at me in the rearview mirror with this guilty face like he was trying to stop but couldn’t. But he kept running around because I was yelling at him. It was all over the seats and the windows and me. We get home and I just him run around and he’s still going everywhere. I had to walk to Wal-mart for cleaning supplies. I have a horrible gag reflex. I could only clean for 20 second blocks.

It was fricken hilarious. My favorite part is he was telling me this on aim and then he was like “I need to go check on my car. I left all the doors open and I want to make sure no one stole anything.” haha, it’s like an odor security system. Such a great and disgusting story that I’m sure will make me laugh many years from now.

Well, that night I took Tyler & his roommate, Jordan, to Moon Dog Tavern to see another co-worker’s band perform. I think they were called The Tide. Basically, they are a reggae cover band, so they mix up the songs in reggae style. It was actually really, really good. The co-worker, Seth, did vocals, keys, & accordion. It was good stuff. Katie T. & Andy also met up for the fun. I had no idea moon dog had that stage/bar area back there so it was a pleasant discovery. Insightful things I found out that night. Andy thinks I hate everything in the world and if I say anything nice, people assume it’s because I’ve been drinking. It was a fun drive home. Tyler and I argue about pointless things and it’s Jordan’s job to point out how pointless they are.

So Friday, the same group minus Jordan went to lunch at Michael’s (this diner across the street from work). The same convo from Moon Dog was continued, basically discussing what a horrible person I am. Tyler also provided even MORE rules about buying/wearing colts apparel. It’s sort of to the point of ridiculousness. I was running these rules by Mitch to try to see if Tyler was a freak or if all guys thought this much about sports. Turns out, Tyler’s not a freak. I’m finding this sports fan thing more & more amazing. If only marriages had mascots, team colors, and stats, the world might be a happier place.

So last night, Training Wheel Fire and The Last Good Year were both slots in the Rock the Ripple event sponsored by indy.com. It was a good time. Every time I turned around, I ran in to more people I knew. Honestly, it made me feel really special :) I have a bit of a headache from all the vodka tonics, but hey, I had a lot of social anxiety to set aside. I talked to my old pal Ryan from LGY, which was nice. I only see him at shows. TWF had a great set. It was Tyler’s mom first time seeing the full band. She leaned over and was like “wow, take away that guitar and he becomes an animal.” It’s quite a spectacle, for sure. They only got 30 minutes which kinda sucked, though. I like being friends with so many bands. I also got to talk to the girl that took Tyler’s PR photos (http://www.aubreypepper.com/). She has some great work. I’m always inspired by photographers who can make a living doing their art.

We wrapped up the night at Hot Box, because anywhere else would have been unnatural. It was just Tyler, his friend from Alabama (nameless girl), Collin, & myself. It was good times, but I’m so completely exhausted. We weren’t out that late, but storms woke me up at 5am this morning and it’s just been a very sleepless morning, which is why I’m writing a gigantic post instead of cleaning like I need to. It was good times though. At some point, I have to do some shopping for a Colts shirt so I can go watch the San Diego game tonight. Look at me being a fan.

Also, Johnny is going to be the headline co-presenter for the Adobe User Group Holland conference later in the month. He’ll be talking about the Halo 3 site, which is very cool and worth checking out. The scenes were created with actual miniatures. It’s an incredible opportunity for him, so I’m super excited and it’s worth mentioning.
