Uncalled for Panic

Yesterday, I got a message from my boss’s boss saying, “call me soon”. I called immediately. He said, “oh it’s not urgent, just stop by when you get a chance. It’ll only take 5 min.” Well, of course this freaked me out, and I was so worried, I had to take a nap to be able to work again. Well, today I stopped by and waited about a half hour for him, killing time by planning my component interface and noting the $1,500 IBM ThinkPad ad. I still can’t decide if I want to go Mac for my laptop. Anyway, I had a nice conversation with the secretary lady. She said she’d seen me around before. I guess EE people would see KNOY people a lot.
Okay, point. The boss guy returns with his boss, the main director and they say they really like my work and wondered if I’d be interested in full-time. Uh duh, so they have to do a lot of paperwork on their end, but it should work out that my other project will be over when FTE starts. It kind of sucks, though, because I was hoping for a mini-vacation from full-time at Purdue to get caught up on freelance. I’m about 2 months behind on it already, but I can’t refuse money. I’m pretty excited. Everything’s working out. It always does. Just gotta go with the flow. I bought a house 5 min from my place of work. That makes me happy.
Quote of the day:
“PLEASE RESPOND PROMPTLY”
It’s funny, the one time promptness is demanded from an email, I coincidentally happened to lack email access. hehe I couldn’t have planned it better. And the quote is from the guy in the previous post, backpack boy. ha
