So yes, another Christmas has come and gone. Thank goodness. Christmas Eve with the mom’s family was an adventure, as always. The drama was so not cool that I really can’t even give details of it. Nothing horrible, just wrong. From the moment I walk in the door there every year, I wonder why I’m even there. 0 desire. For the most part, it’s purely “only because we share a bloodline” gig. I’ve decided that Thanksgiving is so close to Xmas Eve that we should only put ourselves through one or the other :) But pictured is the heavenly chipped chocolate hazelnut cheesecake I slaved over for the evening. I had the brother shelling hazelnuts for me since I had no luck finding whole shelled ones. Turned out pretty well tho and I tried to make it look pretty.

So Christmas day went much better. It’s been going fairly consistently better since my grandma passed on, leaving one less person to put my dad in ill spirits and spoil the entire day. Sad but true. Amazingly, I didn’t get a single album, despite handing over a Xmas list that consisted of Tupperware and a massive list of CD’s :)

Oh yes, I missed excitement on the 23rd which I was pretty upset about. My dad brought a calf home to get warmed up. The mother had trouble having it because the calf was gigantic. It’s the same size as others that are 2 months old. So the family saved the lil guy and got him all warmed up and he finally stood up. He seems to be doing well now. I’ll get pics from my sis to post later.
