My day started off a little earlier than usual, 6 am, because I had to be at MediaSauce by 8:30 for the monthly company meeting. I got an unexpected reply to an email this morning, which truly made my morning feel a little lighter. Of course, by taking time to reply, I put myself 20 min off schedule.

Well, after placing my life in the hands of the Corolla in front of me, because it was raining so hard its taillights were my only guide to the road, and then proceeding to drive 85-90 whenever the rain would cease or slow, I arrived at the meeting, seriously just in time. The meeting was surprisingly enjoyable. I really feel comfortable being myself around the whole group.

As I was listening to everyone name their one positive/negative thing, I had a grand thought. My first project with them was on a damn tight schedule, basically building an admin site in a weekend. What’s special about this is that none of my superiors sent me freak out emails noting the deadline or anything. Everyone was very chill about it. I was probably the only one freaking heh. They had complete faith in me to complete without pushing. Now, that’s a great feeling there. Trust. There is not a single person there that I don’t trust or that might go behind my back about something. So that was my positive thing.

Hehe funny story…I’d just finished noting my hatred of all-caps emails and the electricity goes out, so I continued, “And what I would change…have electricity” and voila the lights came back on. It was great timing. They all know I’m a real force of nature now. haha

I finally worked up the courage (aka Justin threatened me) to talk to Mitch about ditching the web arena. Oh, I definitely know we are going to be partners in crime. Apparently, he’s writing for a real estate magazine just because he loves writing, but he wants to be a columnist. That’s identical to my current newspaper writing situation, which btw, I was offered a full-time job at the paper. After my discussion with Mitch, I’m even more certain that MediaSauce is my place to explore my other interests though. He said I’m welcome to jump in helping him at any time. He also had a stellar idea that if I do get my own D70, we can split the cost of lenses to share.

I’m so thrilled that I can basically jump to any place I please in MediaSauce. They want me doing what I love and I love them for that. I’m really hitting the freelance hard to get it wrapped up asap so i can talk about FTE.

Oh last thing…on the drive home I saw a billboard with only this URL on it: www.thesquattingtoadband.com. I was thoroughly amused.
