I just watched The Acid House. It was a much rougher experience than Trainspotting. It was almost like watching Trainspotting and Requiem for a Dream at the same time with Freud as the director. It was one of those films that just leaves you emotionless by the end. I literally sat there, trying to take in everything I’d just witnessed.

The movie was actually a string of three different Irvine welsh stories. Strip away all the artistic filming, obscene dialogue, and odd metaphors, and you’re left with real life. At the heart of it all, it reveals the hidden, often unspoken/repressed desires of most every human. Well, to some degree.

Initially, I was halfway laughing at the absurdity of the story, but trust me, that didn’t last long. I spent the rest of the experience in an odd stupor, having no idea what to feel or think. Basically, if you want a lesson on human psychology and feel like having your brain fucked with for awhile, go see this movie.

Oh, and the soundtrack is great. Really enjoyable music.
