Stuff & Things

I met with the loan officer today. It sounded positive to me. She talked like I got the loan. The only things up in the air are the results of the appraisal and whether or not my parents will need to sign a guarantee. I was very specific about not wanting them to co-sign, as I want the title to be in my name only. I’m locked in to a low rate for 7 years, which should be plenty of time to get the bulk of the principal paid off. The funny part is my house payment will be a bit less than my rent. I was thinking about how much money owning a house will save me. Right now, I pay about $10K/yr for rent, so it’ll be about the same for a house, so once my house is paid off, there will be that much extra I can bank each year, at least in theory. I’m sure appliances and such will need replacing by then, but still, at least that leaves extra to pay for those items. This is very exciting. The lady said she would get back with me by Friday for a date on when they’d be able to close. She guessed Oct. 18, which leaves only a few more weeks of apartment life. I’ll have to start packing stuff up soon. Weird.
I got all of my photos matted, mounted, packaged, and priced. They’re on their way to Mansfield. I’m hoping they sell, because I have a pretty good investment in them, both time and money. If you go to the covered bridge festival, they’ll be in the big barn at Mansfield. Check ‘em out.
Well, so far so good. I’m busy but I can’t complain, I suppose. One funny thing to share: I saw a Purdue trash truck guy driving down the road, a really rough lookin’ white guy, and he was waving one of his hands snapping and grooving to some song. I just sat there at the bus stop and cracked up. It made my day.
oooh and if you checked my blog this fine day, you would have noticed that there are actually pasts posts in “on this day” hehe fun times. I was such a different person just 2 short years ago.
