Staying Positive
http://www.thiscellardoor.com/blog/entry/staying_positive/
Well, my alarm finally bit the dust today. It’s one of those that has sounds of the rain forest, seagulls, and rooster options. For the last month or so, I’ve been woken by a medley of all those, which ends up sounding a bit psychotic. Surprisingly, I’ve adjusted to where it doesn’t make me jump out of bed. Well today it just never made a peep. It’s also the first day this week that my dog hasn’t gotten me up early. Of course, it’s the day I needed her to.
Thus, my morning was a little rushed, baking cookies and all, but it was cool. I realized my parking pass expired Monday so I bought a new one and the girl was a total ditz. Speaking of cars, I keep forgetting where I parked. I know what wall but never what floor. I park on the outside edge so I can try to see my car from the stairwell. Pretty sad, I know.
Evan unknowingly answered my call for memorable quotes, so here it goes:
“yeah…all kinds of boo-boo’s. I’ve been playing band-aid.”
1: “what about ‘big silly goose’?”
2: “well, let’s try to avoid that.”
3: “ooh ok…then ‘normal-sized silly goose’?”1: “mark, you’re on top of your game”
2: *beams*
3: “aww, he’s so proud”
2: “man, I just realized I need to go to the bathroom”
1: *weird uncontrollable laugh*
3: “sometimes I don’t know about that guy”To girl on phone: “hey, you want a cookie?”
“yes!”
“umm it won’t fit”
ooh yeah and the car repair place gave my car new car smell and it’s lovely :) I didn’t get to give my lovely wrapped gift today…blah. I invited Blaine and some friends back home to Knickerbocker. Doesn’t sound promising that any will go. I don’t want to let that depress me. It already did for a little bit because it troubles me that I have to try to find plans for a weekend or for anything, for that matter, when others get casual invites left & right. I tried my best. It just doesn’t seem the guys think I’m worth anything outside of work. In fact, they likely never want to hear or see my name again after this project is over, seeing my name in their inbox constantly has probably created a negative association :(
I’ve got work to do too tonight though. I’m considering taking my laptop and working on the freelance project I need to have done Sunday (not started), because the live music should spark my creative juices, drinking will keep me relaxed, and I’ll have no internet distractions. I’ll have to go buy a laptop mouse first, though. No freehand magic is going to happen with a touchpad. I lack that amount of patience.
