I’m nearing the end of a 4-day weekend, a reward for some intense work time over the last month. Naturally, I’ve wasted it to a great deal, but I got in some long phone chats with friends and family and other overdue items. My idea to drive up to Washington got put to rest by Cerra, the in-house expert on weather and road travel between here and there. It certainly worked out, though, because I got a call from some friends who were in town from Indy today. Mookie had the grand idea to watch the Colts game, since he quite accurately stated that I probably never have anyone to watch them with. I gave him a tour of the office and then we headed over to Pete’s, which much to our surprise was playing the game on the largest screen. We were the only real Colts fans who were cheering. The others obviously just hated the Steelers. It was good times! I broke out my jersey and played the part of a real fan for an afternoon. They ended up winning (barely), so Tyler has ordered that I have to watch all their games now to keep up the streak :)

Soon we were joined by Missy & her mom. We had a great afternoon telling stories. As I was telling them about our adventure at the Jejune Institute, Mookie slid over a phone number he’d pulled from a flyer with a link to the time camera! haha. I was like “yes!!” Luckily for him, he was able to put his curiosity at ease without losing any self-dignity ;)

It was a really great afternoon, and I was so happy they called. I didn’t hang out with them often in Indy, so I felt pretty special that they made a point to see me anyway. Looking forward to checking out a Comedy Sportz show when I get back to Indy. Oh, and Missy’s mom works in IT. I never meet IT moms!! So that was extra cool.

Oh, this morning I spent way too much money on an 8th row, center stage ticket for Jerry Seinfeld. As I was browsing available seats, there was a single seat available, just sitting there empty, all by itself, practically begging me to buy it. So far everyone I’ve told has helped me rationalize the investment. As I told my sister, I’ll be close enough that I could be heckled by Jerry Seinfeld. It’d be really embarrassing but such a privilege! And because I’m ever the optimist, I added, “And if I’d had a boyfriend to drag along, I wouldn’t have been able to snag this awesomely close solo seat.” I’m so excited. I passed on seeing him when he came through Indy and totally kicked myself over it. The regret is now undone. Now I just need to catch Cosby or Ellen.

And on that note, I got further harassment from Mookie about giving up my comedy career. I really do need to get my shit together on that front. Enough people have given me shit about it for long enough for me to believe they weren’t just being nice. Restarting is the hardest step.

Funny tidbits from the day that will mean nothing to any of you: “sliders vs ciders” & “sparkly panther shirt” (I’ll try to get the photo for this one…the dude totally noticed I was taking his picture.)
