Speed Dating
http://www.thiscellardoor.com/blog/entry/speed_dating/
So you may have noticed madwoman got a makeover today. It doesn’t all quite jive but this color scheme was screaming in my head to be implemented. I believe it’s my first websafe version. I also limited amount of posts/page and added a recent post listings. Anyway, hopefully you weren’t blinded on page load.
I spoke to the Editor of The Weekly, and she may have an assignment for me, some feature about an Amish man and his cheese factory. I’ll know for sure Wednesday.
To the purpose of this post. Speed dating. I heard a radio ad about 96.5 WAZY sponsoring 7-min dating next Tuesday at Knickerbocker Saloon. One of my friends always said we should go to one of these, but he moved to DC. I was never keen on the idea anyway. Now I’m reconsidering, but I still lack faith that any decent (aka to my standards) men will be there.
Nearly all my friends will be gone in May so I need to meet some new people. I was at Ace Hardware today and there were some lovely guys there hehe.
Hopefully, Rachel will be a pal and go with me. I figure if I’m letting a stranger move in with me in 2 days, 7 minutes with a strange man shouldn’t be too bad.
Ok update…I just spent over an hour of my life completing a profile at eharmony.com. Yes, even after I’ve lost hope in the online dating realm. I enjoy the personality profiles generated, though. Hehe. This one was pretty damn good…I’ve added what they determined as my list of needs:
- Freedom from boredom and routine.
- An audience to perform to and entertain.
- Social recognition of your accomplishments.
- Partners who practice listening and participation.
- A friendly, favorable social environment.
- Many and varied activities.
- Recognition of skills and ability.
- A support system to help you get things done.
- More time in the day for both work and play.
- As much travel as possible: short trips, long trips and excursions.
- Activities involving contact with many people.
- Equal relations with others.
Scary, huh? Well, time to check out Polyphonic Spree on ACL. Knowing good food awaits me will be all that makes me get up tomorrow…
