Time to finish my story. I’m sure the suspense has been killing you.

So we walk about a half block from Trace to the venue, the Metro (very cool place btw). So my friend and I find a nice place to stand about 6 feet from the stage or so, and he of course starts making friends with people. I bet guys don’t like being called social butterflies, eh? haha. Yeah, but it was funny b/c the people next to us ended up being from WL and one of them gathers trash in my friend’s place of work. Small World. The other couple…err umm ex-couple…we met provided us with some detailed information about their past. Yeah, it was one of those: guy will do anything for girl, girl thinks guy is great but feels suffocated, so girl meets new guy at work, breaks up with great guy, great guy and girl try the let’s be friends game and go to a concert together. If you knew my friend, you’d understand why he gained way too much amusement from their situation. One thing’s for sure though, I’m never letting my friend be a psychiatrist. The whole “you’re stupid” line, complete honesty thing sometimes doesn’t work well in that situation.

But anyway, the concert. Mathew Ryan opened for Starsailor. I’d never heard him, but he was really great. He was on acoustic, another guy on bass, and a chick flipping between keyboard and violin. It was a nice setup. I personally enjoyed the lady. What can i say? I’m a sucker for the string section. I saw her and the bass player making eyes at each other. It was so romantic. They seemed so shy. Aww, group hug.

And now the moment you’ve all been waiting for…Starsailor CD starts playing…right before the chorus, band walks out on stage and breaks lose (CD ends…obviously). Gosh it was so darn exciting (<- note my good language *halo*. further note, lack of umph good language has). Revised: God! It was SO damn exciting!!

The break up with good guy girl was talking to me about how the lead singer had such dreamy eyes. I agreed. He is a nice looking chap. I’m so close to being British, it’s not even funny. So yeah…the girl asks my friend what he thinks of him. Poor guy…every (or 2..whatever) new person he meets insinuates he’s gay. *shrug* Having British accents, I would have been happy if the band had just talked the whole time. I love Europeans. The band members were kind of nerdy for lack of a better word, but that made me enjoy their performance even more. They’re not a hardcore death metal band by any means, but the singer did things like playing the guitar behind his back and stuff which just cracked me up. He just seemed so damn genuinely sweet. I wish I could have met them.

The performance was wonderful…absolutely, breathtaking. Only thing that could have made it better would have been having a full orchestra playing with them instead of a recording. Then I would have truly been in heaven. They’d have needed the police to get me to leave. Vocals and the sound were right on. It was nice actually being able to hear vocals and such.

They’d played a nice long set, ended with an extended improv version of Good Souls. Amazing. I was on such a music-buzz. I swear good music gets me high. I can’t wait to see them again or any concert. I’m officially addicted.
