Well, I called Adam yesterday about riding bikes. Never heard back. I called Mitch about he & the graffiti boys going to the Irving theater grand opening. He called back several hours later and was on his way to climb. Also, apparently some of his other buddies had ended up going to the bluegrass festival back in my hometown that we were all gonna go to but his g/f had to work. blah. I passed on joining him but then as I sat on my couch to watch Toy Story, breaking news emerged and it lingered on every single channel. PBS was a major letdown with this daniel o’ something, the most horrifying entertainer ever. I seriously tried watching and kept saying “it hurts tooo much”. That’s when i said “screw it, i’m gonna go climb.” I’d been out riding my bike for the last hour or so prior so I was in the mood to keep that rush going.
I got in the car and headed toward Fishers. Not far in to my trip, I remembered I wasn’t exactly sure how to get to this place, so instead of getting there at 9, I got there more at 9:30 :) and it closed at 10. But it was a fun drive. I saw an HH Gregg so big that I felt physically intimidated. That was interesting.
Of course, after making it all that way, I thought I should at least drop in and say “hi”. So I met Mitch’s infamous friend, Rick, who is awesome. They were just finishing up so I chatted with them a bit and walked them out. I suggested the night did not have to end, so we went to Rick’s place and drank some strong capt & cokes and watched his old junior high basketball highlight reels, laughing our asses off. I had sooo much fun! Who knew little kid basketball could be so exciting? :) I saw a fat kid fling a smaller kid in the air in a jump ball attempt. There was head bounce on the floor. Insane! We re-watched it several times, once in slow motion hehehe. Mitch left after a couple hours, but I was in no state to drive yet, so I hung out with Rick and we played “name that song” for another 2 hours, which thinking about it, that’s a pretty impressive stretch for that game.
It was well worth the trip, and I’m looking forward to some more potential fun with those guys.
