So. My little brother had an emergency appendectomy last night. Exciting stuff. He should be just fine. The surgery went very well.

I have a quick turn assignment at work that I’m excited about—partially because I’m tired of staring at Silverlight and partially because I get to work with folks who are here from the London office (yes, accents) and because I can finally feel like I’m making a worthwhile contribution to the team. Good times.

I got to partake in a little brainstorming the other day, which of course made my day. Looks like I should have future opportunities the longer I’m here and the more useful things I come up with to contribute.

I had lunch at Crossroads Cafe today, which employs ex-cons. Perhaps that is how I got a gourmet meal of rosemary chicken and yellow-fin potatoes for $5.30. Oh, and I got to enjoy an outdoor terrace with lovely landscaping and a view of the bay. It may become my go-to spot. Diana has other spots lined up to take me. She kinda rocks. So far, I have complete faith in her taste. There may be bowling and/or ice skating in the plans for the weekend. That should make for a great post :)

All for now…I’m trying to fully utilize my sleep time in a real bed, a luxury I shall soon lose.
