First off, I must say today was absolutely beautiful. I got home and had my dinner on my porch, while i looked through the prints from my trip. There were 2 boys out fishing in the pond, and well, it was the serenity I needed.

I finally brought myself to create calendars for all the projects I’m overseeing, which indirectly meant having to realize the quantity: 21. Ouch. I feel I have them all more organized though, so I have faith. Everyone seems to be really happy with the job I’m doing which is really nice to hear. Mitch sent me the nicest message in the world yesterday, which completely helped my spirits. My sister said it was just a way to motivate me—that she had learned that business tactic in class that day. Way to downplay it, sis :)

So I had my first forceful client encounter today. It was dramatized throughout the office. Really, it wasn’t that bad. I was just in the wrong place, wrong time, and so they ended up trying to get answers out of the wrong person. It was quality though because one of the RM’s was retelling it to president Dave and his version went like this:

RM: Dave, they were yelling at Mindy to the point it scared her and she had to leave for help

Dave: So why didn’t you step in to help her?

Good point, but really, they were totally professional about it. They just approached us the wrong way, and I left to try to get them someone that could actually answer their questions. I will admit it was very uncomfortable though, and by the end of the day, we responded that we didn’t think our businesses were intended to work together.

Anyway, that clever boy Mitch had this to say about the RM:

Mitch: he doesn’t have nerves of steel or icewater in his veins like you do :)

Me: haha thanks, i think

Mitch: well you’re more than a trooper. you’re a sargeant or something now. next a captain…then admiral…then minister…then ninja

And that’s where I called him a nerd and the conversation changed entirely :) Good times.

I got really stressed this week, but so long as that feeling only comes in waves and there are plenty of good times to counter-balance, I think all is going to go very well. I really do love my job. I’ve never had a job where everyday I didn’t at least think about how nice it’d be not to go.
