One Job Down

Yesterday was officially my last day as part of the Nanohub. The peeps took me out to Chumley’s for a going away dinner. Though I was slightly dreading it, it went rather well. My officemate Kevin ended up being able to make it, too. I also got donations for the covered bridge, which made my night. The technical director kept saying, “you know, it’s not too late to change your mind.” haha umm yeah, it is. I gave him a virtual face slap. I love doing that.
As I’ve said before I really enjoy all of them outside of work, but I said they’d have to pay for my meds if they wanted me to come back. Meds meaning prozac in case you’re slow. Kevin said I was one of the best web dev ppl he’d worked with in the last 10 years, and everyone wished me best of luck with my solo career.
I turned in my last time card afterward and stopped by Johnny & Evan’s while I was around. I have an awesome knack for waking Evan up. So anyway, now I’m freaking out about paying the now $1500 worth of extra bills beyond the usual due this month without the aide of nanohub income. I’ve been such a tightass my entire life, that recently I was finally trying to loosen up and have some fun. So yeah, 3 cheers for nearing poverty. I’d be okay if some of my freelance people would pay me.
Well, I’m hopefully seeing Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy tonight with some people. Half the people I associate with will be disappearing in a week. I’m just full of good news.
So back to work & my denial of the current state of things. heh maybe gas prices will go up more, too. That would rock. Enjoy your college freedom, kids.
