UPDATE Mitch sent me 3 photos tonight on aim. I get to see the rest on Monday. He says they are “incredible” :) So here are my boys, Mitch & Derek, at b-ball. They seriously can entertain me for hours.
Tonight, I joined the boys for some basketball after work. Started out with just Derek & I and then Mitch joined up, so we broke out some HORSE action. I don’t know how, but I was on fire with the shots. We knocked Mitch out pretty quickly, and Derek and I finally had to call a truce once others started showing up. I was 100% pumped! But once we all arrived, we decided this court at the elementary school just wasn’t gonna cut it so we headed to another park down the way.

Mel showed up making for an even number and the 2 girls were made captains, not because we were girls but because we were both wearing jeans. It’s not my fault that these boys give me no notice :) I did damn well for having jeans on too I might add.
It was sooo much fricken fun. And even better was that I was doing a pretty damn good job of keeping up, but I’ll admit I had to swap who I was guarding b/c Mitch is like a damn rabbit and an amazingly better shooter outside of the game of HORSE. We played 2 games, and I must say I haven’t felt so great in ages! I really don’t know how I didn’t die. It was pure adrenaline and it wasn’t until I took my break, b/c Mel did and I had to keep team even…that i realized my feet hurt like hell. No matter! But then Mel ended up leaving so I was odd man out, so I broke out Mitch’s camera with his zoom lens and started playing sports photographer. Those are the shots I’m waiting for him to send b/c from the thumbs, I think I got some damn good ones!
Mitch finally benched himself to let me play a bit and then his friend left leaving us with even teams for game 2. It was just so much fun! But seriously, I’m gonna be ready for them next week. I’ll be in some kickass shape playing intense street ball like that all summer…except when it gets ungodly hot and then my poor lil no tolerance for heat will kick in and I’ll have to stop.

But yeah, Brian, Mitch, Justin, Craig, and I headed out to b-dub’s afterward for some food & drinks. Soo much fun…just chillin’ with the guys. I was in heaven.
Now the big question…is whether or not I’ll be able to move any of my limbs in the morning :)
Oooh and I had a fantastic lunch today, too. Mitch & I took work on the road, hooked ourselves up with some Jimmy John’s and chilled outside at Clay Terrace while we brainstormed on a project. Being outside with food is the sure way to my creative side :) After that, we stopped by Meijer to try to find some “for sale” signs but that mission failed after roaming the entire store. It was against the rules to ask for help but it was all good. There’s excitement around every corner at Meijer so you can’t go wrong hah! But yeah, I talked Mitch’s leg off because that’s what i do. But wow, all the basketball excitement had almost made me forget that fun. And I almost forgot that Mitch had to drive us around because Amy had gotten me a frappucino with a shot of expresso and the caffeine was causing a serious physical reaction which prevented me from being still for close to an hour.
And so my Cinco de Mayo turned out to be spectacular, even after I had decided I’d just go home & visit my parents tonight since i couldn’t get any plans made. But so it goes that those spontaneous events pop up when you least expect and save the day :)
