oh, to be 25

So far my weekend has been more eventful than planned. Friday night I was half way in to “Knocked Up” (which I found disappointing btw) when Tyler called about going to Spin. I thought we had decided not to go earlier in the day, but it seems something had changed his mind.
So I met up with Andy & him at Spin. Saw Kold War (eh), Frisbie (enjoyable), and my friend’s band, The Last Good Year. Andy supports my theory that they need a new lyricist, but otherwise, rock.
Well, it was 10pm before this night started and I was exhausted, so by 1am when the last band wrapped up, I should have been asleep under the table. But by some stroke of genius, I agreed to join the guys at The Red Room.
I walked in the door, saw a dance floor and immediately started trying to think of the strongest drink possible. So while I was downing my long island (so fast that my mouth was numb), Tyler had already leaped to the center of the crowd and was rocking out. Andy & I were in awe at his guts.
With my long island courage fully intact, I jumped in too and Andy soon followed. We were no match for Tyler but I was really proud of our efforts. Sadly, it was my first time doing this so-called “booty dance” and I felt ridiculous. But it was pretty damn fun, though. We closed the place down at 3am and quickly came to the realization that Tyler & I were not fit for operating heavy machinery. So Andy takes us to his place. However, before we got there, Tyler called Katie, leaving this ridiculous voicemail about how he was kidnapped and just needed a nap and wanted her to pick him up at 4am. So yeah, poor Katie calls back, understandably confused. Looking back, it was fricken hilarious. I was at least coherent but still obviously experiencing some brain processing lag time. Like talking to Katie for 5 minutes before I realized the phone had died :)
Well, the next morning was not as awkward as I feared it would be. Andy delivered us safely back to our cars and we were on our way. I feel way too old to do this sort of stuff, so it was nice to feel young and get a few more glimpses of the college life I missed.
Katie & I ended up having a 4.5 hour phone convo last night, half based on filling her in on the details that lead up to the 3am phone call she got. I was really afraid she hated us, but that was not the case.
Anyway, I’m exhausted but I’ll have to be hitting the road soon to visit my parents and cousins who are in town from DC. I really don’t feel like driving but I missed their visit last year.
