After stopping by the Amish farm yesterday and the man telling me he changed his mind about the story, I went on a photo adventure instead. I started at the Narrows Covered Bridge and took tons of canoer pics. I’m definitely going canoeing next time I’m home. It’s so much fun! After walking all around there, I drove to downtown Rockville to shoot the courthouse and some other buildings I need for a website. hehe I was practically lying on the courthouse lawn taking the pics, but they turned out beautiful.
I misjudged the distance to one of the buildings, so it wasn’t the best idea to walk, but it worked out because I passed by a magnolia tree. So yeah, I just stood in someone’s front lawn and took a crap load of pictures of their tree. I LOVE magnolia trees, though, and I know their blossoms don’t last long. I did all my shooting this day in full manual, and I must say I was proud of myself. Perfect weather always helps.
I took the back way home through Nyesville & Judson and got some random house photos there. They were one of those apply brake/roll down window/click/accelerate away deals hehe, so not that great but something I needed to do.

Once I got home, dad called asking if I wanted to take pics of them in the field (aka please photograph my new most favoritest planter). Over the past few years, he’s been using John Deere planters, which is a big deal because he’s a die-hard Case IH man. This year he upgraded from a 12 to 16 row planter, which has apparently been wonderful. I’ve never seen my dad so chipper while he’s in the field. Thank you, John Deere. Let’s pray it doesn’t break. This is officially the earliest (by a day) he’s ever started planting. So far, so good. That’s the little brother in the kick ass STX (bottom tractor) btw. Oh, here’s a farm commercial (108mb AVI or YouTube version below) I did for a video editing course. I was proud of it. I can’t believe I got my dad to participate.
[Update: here’s a new edit of the same footage]
Well, I seriously had to have walked a few miles for all my photos, so I was beat that night. I got started on my knitting projects though, and I have one scarf about 1/4 done, aiming for 1/2 by tonight. I’ll post photos of them as I finish. hehe my mom just shook her head when she saw how much yarn I bought. Busy girl, that’s me.
Oh yeah, I got a copy of The Weekly with my article. front page & continued on page 2
