Although I did not make it to any yard sales lining Hwy 40 this week in celebration of the National Road’s anniversary, I did make it to Luna’s big outdoor sale. I spent an hour rummaging, discovering treasures. Here’s what I got for $14:

• The Appleseed Cast - Peregrine : I saw this and remembered Johnny recommending me something “appleseed”. yes, “johnny appleseed” is what kept that memory alive. sure enough, it’s the right band
• Margot & the Nuclear So & So’s single & 2 posters
• Brooks & Dunn - Hillbilly Deluxe : I was sort of disappointed John wasn’t working to give me crap about that one. haha and yes, I own rob zombie’s Hellbilly Deluxe as well. That’s quality.
• Willy Mason - Selections from “Where the humans eat” : It was really opening band CD day, since I saw him open for Bright Eyes
• Kill Hannah - For Never & Ever : This is for my sis and also b/c my stylist back when i was in lafayette flies out to do this band’s hair for their videos and photoshoots.
• Razorlight - Up all night : Saw them open for Muse way back when
• the apparitions - as this is futuristic : I had one of their tracks from MMS last year, but that track wasn’t on this CD. However, there is a track called “God Monkey Robot” and well, no matter what, that makes it worth the buy. Actually, I just listened and it’s a great CD!
• Quigley’s Point - at swim two birds : honestly, the packaging was cool and it said “made in england”. it seemed a safe bet. And so far, I’m thinking that was a good call…it’s not amazing but it’s quite nice.
• Walkmen Bows + Arrows mini poster
• Black Keys mini poster
• Coachella mini poster
• dual-sided The Vines mini poster which is awesome. i didn’t see the back til i got home. i should have bought 2 :-/
• Wolfmother mini poster

In case you weren’t counting, each item was $1. If I’d thought I could carry anymore, I would have done more random experimental picking. But it’s all for the best, I’m officially out of room to store anymore CD’s. I’d guess I’ve purchased about 20 in the last few months. *sigh*

There was one disappointment to the day. In my hopeless attempt to meet people, more specifically single boys, I broke out the skirt again and tried to look “cute” with the hopes that some hot indie boys would also be doing some Luna rummaging. But since god hates me, it was all moms & junior high boys. It was really quite cruel.

In better news, my $100 reward from rent.com is arriving this week and I plan to buy myself an ipod nano. The big question is black or white? :)
