Well, nearly.
29/68ish isn’t bad for a really small company lacking athletes. (Actually, seems we won the communications division.) We arrived full of glory at 7am on Saturday morning at the Butler sports complex. We had a VP of marketing rock her 5K to the sounds of Godsmack. We came in just behind the US Track & Field in the sprint relay, and conquered 2 rounds of tug-of-war before defeat in the finals with the victory screams of “We’re computer programmers dammit!!”. We even had Hup come in 4th in the 1/2 mile sprint while filming himself. Mad skills. It was an amazing feat, and we had everyone asking “Who are the flying saucers??” Oh, they know now. Evidence is in Mitch’s photos.
Followed up with some lunch at Plump’s in Broad Ripple, and I’m pretty sure that was followed by everyone crashing and waking up the next day to overwhelming stiffness.
No worries. Training for next year starts now. We’ll take them down and should actually have enough people to have fresh athletes for each event.
Next year is our year.
