So I’ve just returned from an action-packed extended weekend stay in Louisville.

Drove down Thursday night to perform at the late show at Comedy Caravan. My contact there told me not to expect any laughs but to keep doing my thing, so I was really happy that I got as many laughs as I did. It went well and the GM had good things to say, so when I have a solid 15 minutes, he said to come back & see about emceeing. Also said I have the “nervous energy of Ellen DeGeneres.” Sweet.

Friday night was the wedding rehearsal. It took me 20 minutes to cross the bridge in to Louisville, so I was late but it all worked out. After rehearsing, we headed to Carrie’s for a cookout. I played cornhole for the first time. Cassie & I won, but I really contributed nothing to the victory.

Saturday was the big day. I met up with most the other bridesmaids for lunch at Olive Garden at noon. From there we went to the hair place where I wrote my toast while everyone else had their hair done. The photographer took a picture of my tootsie roll t-shirt which basically means he was focused in on my chest and that made me really uncomfortable. I didn’t even know his name.

We stopped by C21 hotel to pick up the dresses, which was really cool. It should be for $150/night. We got ready in the loft at Glassworks, where the wedding was held. The ceremony was on the rooftop. It was a perfect day. Definitely a little warm but it was clear and you could see the river & skyline all around. Reception was downstairs. We had to walk in & be announced, which was strange. It was like being in the starting line-up of a basketball team but we didn’t do anything cool like run out and do a lay-up. Kind of anti-climatic.

Overall, it was good times. It wasn’t nearly as terrifying as I feared it might be. I didn’t fall going down the aisle and people laughed at my toast. I had a groomsman say I was beautiful, which was nice. It was a really fun weekend, though. All the other bridesmaids were awesome. I’m hoping to get down to Louisville more to hang out with all of them.
