More the Merrier, eh?

UPDATE Hah, I just found my license in my back jeans pocket. I wondered about that the whole drive yesterday if I were license-less, but I thought it best not to look and find out. I’m awesome like that. Going to track down Amish now…
My first trek to Fishers was a success. There was some minor screaming as I merged on to 65 directly behind and beside a semi. It was like driving straight into a corner. Plus, there was the whole thing with it pouring down rain about the moment I had to merge on to 465. I really love the people that don’t turn on their lights. I was driving and just singing “so many lanes, so many lanes…person in front of me, I can’t see you, oh person, I can’t see you, please turn on your lights.” hehe Arcade Fire got me through, though. Clem Snide took me home, followed by some oldies.
Arrived at Mediasauce 15 min early. A beautiful guy came out. Well, he was at first glance; I didn’t get a second one. I had the most difficult interview of my life. Seriously, no talk of my skills or experience, only what I wanted to do, my thoughts on their company (reservations/excitements), and where I want to be in 3 years to make it feel it was worth taking this job. I was a stammering fool.
So I got a tour and all that jazz…then the Pres talked to me alone and asked me for a number. I was like “whoa, that’s fast”. I suggested starting out as contract though, and he was cool with my number for that too. We decided I could come in any day I decide on each week, and I said I could give 10hrs/wk until June. I’m not really giving myself that month break I planned on, but I think they would be okay with prolonging the contract system. Plus, I have to figure out something about the commute. I actually enjoyed the drive, just not the cost of the gas.
As I was coming back in to town tonight, I was feeling sentimental about Lafayette. I really like the hidden culture that exists around here. I think I’ll miss it. Fishers was pretty sweet, though. I played at Joann’s for over an hour. I bought so much yarn! I can’t wait to get started on my scarves. Hehe
I really like my house here and the atmosphere, and as of right now, I’m cool with commuting. Winter won’t be so cool for that, but if I’m making enough, I could rent a place for a few months. Who knows…I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.
I’m very excited about the company, though. I feel like I could grow in any direction there, and it’ll allow me to really explore my different interests, maybe even the writing and photography. So my first official day is Wednesday. Wish me luck.
