mmm Seattle

This will likely be my last post for a few days. I’m heading home tomorrow evening, and my plane to Seattle leaves early Friday morning. My mom, sister, and I are flying out for my cousin’s wedding. He and his bride to be are both JAG lawyers. They’re my successful family members. The entire family moved to the Seattle area from VA over the past few years, following my cousin Abbe moving out there for school. Apparently, they fell in love with the place when they visited her. Anyway, their parents live in Port Ludlow, so that’s where the wedding is. It’s apparently a very nice resort-style town. We’re staying in Port Townsend the first night, which they say has neat old buildings. I’m aiming to take at least 100 photos a day :) so look forward to those…or don’t heh
And 5 hours later, I actually get back to typing this…poor Brit, Matt, apparently typed me a huge email accounting his weekend adventures but it got erased, so I’m anxiously awaiting the retype, hopefully with fire twirling photos. He said he’d try again when he was back from Scotland.
Well, I touched base with mr. creative guy last night. It’s sort of frustrating having to always ask to assist. I wish he’d trust me when I say “I want to help…just send me anything…I’ll tell you if I don’t have time.” I think he’s just too used to doing it all by himself, which I can understand. Anyway, I took on a writing assignment at 11:30 last night that he ideally wanted “now.” hehe and he continued, noting it needed to be the best thing I’d ever written in my life, because it was really, really important. Of course, I said “No pressure. I like it!” Well, we’ve been sending it back & forth today, and it’s really shaping up nicely. He’s told me twice that he’s really happy with what I’d done. It’s really nice to see how easily we build on each others work with only brief IM’s. I see great potential for future collaboration. I already feel I’ve improved a lot just from reading his edits and other work. I’m becoming more concise and learning how to work the punctuation for a spoken tone, not necessarily one that looks pretty grammatically on paper (aka not writing speeches). I can’t wait to share the links for these projects whenever they get finished. I’m so excited! I really think they’re going to have an emotional effect on people, something I’ve never been able to claim about a website.
