Update—I finally got a chance to see John today. Zach & I were both able to make it to his place in Clinton. He’s been through a lot, but somehow, it felt as if nothing had changed. The three of us fell right back in step after years of being strewn apart. John’s mom was in town, too, so it made for a full reunion. It was just like the old days. I was there for around 5 hours. It was awesome. I hope to get a few more visits in before I leave town, which shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Update 2—It seems by my “on this day” roster, today would have marked my 3 year anniversary at the sauce. Weird. I honestly can’t say I’ve had a moment of regret over leaving. I’m in terribly good spirits (more so when my parents are not around to bring it down :)
Drove up to Indy Friday night. I stopped by in Lebanon for a cookout with the Kingmans. It was delicious! I had a really good time hanging out with them, made better by watching the latest Office & 30 Rock episodes. They were amazing! We were all laughing and cringing at the awkwardness. The Office dinner party was classic and Liz Lemon & Jack Donague are my heroes. We also watched “I want to f*ck Matt Damon”. Pretty funny. I had to pull myself away from that fun at 10pm to get on the road to Tyler’s show at Birdy’s.

He had so many people at his show, some that I’ve rarely talked to so it was a nice evening. Had a great chat with Nate G. & Kim. I love them. I wish I’d tried to hang out with them more. We were practically neighbors. Tyler’s good friend, Landon, and his friend Anna were also good company. Landon reminds me so much of Evan Whalen. It’s crazy. I spent a good part of the evening with the Katies (pictured) and Jenn. Always a good time. We’re always there to give Tyler his “wooo” for his dance moves. Speaking of which, Tyler was sporting an all black ensemble with a black vest & pink tie. It was a big departure from his typical jeans/earth tones look. He was like “yeah, but it’s pretty hot, eh?” I had no choice but to agree.
Since Adam was still sick, the plan was to crash at Tyler’s place that night. Well, we had to wait around til 2:30am, after the last band was over, so he could get paid. It was a late night. Once we got up the next morning, we caught up on some Rob & Big (my guilty pleasure) and then began our day of CD packaging. It took longer than I ever imagined but by the time I left around 10pm, we had printed 125 covers & CD labels, trimmed all 4 edges of all the covers and had them all at least half-folded. Tyler has a lot of folding, gluing and stamping ahead of him today. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out. We both wish we could have used brown instead of black but it’s not too bad. I’m anxious to see them all finished. I’ll post pictures when they’re done. I don’t want to spoil the surprise til then.
