Almost forgot: MediaSauce moving day video (25MB…i’d ‘save link as’)

I’m really sleepy…3 days in a row of driving to work has me a bit worn out but I have a few things to ramble about. The photo is a sample of my mad photography skills at 70mph at 7am. That’s manual focus, mind you. It was foggy as hell this morning.

I’m fairly certain that I had one of my most memorable Mediasauce moments today. I met with this client today who was just amazing and so inspiring. She & her daughter started this amazing program 20 years ago, but only 6 years in to it, her daughter & son-in-law were killed in a car accident and actually, she was left in critical condition. Her & her husband adopted their 1-year-old grandson, who is now a budding computer whiz. The stories she was telling about him reminded me much of myself at that age, and I told her she should bring him in anytime and I would show him what we do.

Anyway, following her daughter’s death, she felt she couldn’t return to teaching, so she & her husband finally pooled their funds to buy land to build a year-round facility to carry on the program she’d started with her daughter. I wish I could give more details but just know that it is an amazing program that is helping so many kids. And well, this lady, before I even knew this story, she was just a delight to speak to. Her passion weighed through on every word she spoke. I truly left that meeting with such an awesome feeling. I mean it made everything else I had to do that day seem like cake. I wish I could have a moment like that everyday.

On a less serious and awe-inspiring note, I got to do a voiceover for a project today. hehe the best part was I got to play with GarageBand for the first time. I totally need a mac. Anyone upgrading…looking to sell their current?

Anyway, I’ve just had a really strong 3 days at work, and it’s a great feeling. I was so tired last night that I really don’t remember going to bed. It makes for a nice sleep. The new space is working out wonderfully. I think we’re all 20x more productive with the new setup. And I finally have a photo of Snippy on my desk :) I’ll take photos of my desk once it’s more umm…lived in and has some character. Oooh but I just found out yesterday that our graffiti guy will be doing a huge mural downstairs and all up along the stairs. I’m so excited!! We’re all bringing in our own artwork to decorate the place. I’ll post more pics once we have it all pimped out. It’s already pretty damn stylin’.

But yeah, I just got back from Chumley’s with Rach & Ben. She’s leaving late Saturday afternoon for DC…after homecoming. I’ll be joining them for a way too early tailgate and the game. It’s just not sinking in yet that she’s gonna be gone.

And on another completely separate note, I need a Halloween costume idea. I’m struggling and I’m running out of time.
