Labor Day with the Sis

I returned to work after Labor Day and worked 37 hrs in 2 days. So, good news, I’ll be keeping this post brief. The work project turned out surprisingly well. Officially the latest night I’ve ever worked here, though, and the first time I’ve slept at an office. I was too exhausted to bike home at 5 AM. The few hours on the work sofa felt like the best sleep in the world, though. I might have slept back there all day had I not heard some people talking. That would have been awkward to have someone find me back there in the dark haha.
So Jenna & her b/f were in town over Labor Day. Here are some photo highlights.
Saturday

Foggiest Labor Day weekend I’ve ever seen. There were some bikers from Alberta standing by us who commented, “60% fog, 40% bridge”. They said it was foggy the whole span of the coast.

Finally found the Wave Organ! Failed to time it at high tide to hear it, though. It’s a great secluded spot, which I should remember on a nice day as a nearby destination.
Also, at Amoeba, I got the Doctor Zhivago soundtrack & a great blues compilation on vinyl for a combined price of $4. The stars may align for Tyler to become the proud owner of a rhinestone jacket I found if it’s still at the store. AT&T fail sending the text while I was there!
Sunday

Rode a steam engine up Bear Mountain at Roaring Camp, near Felton, CA

Spectacular ride through the redwoods. We went through several switchbacks to zig-zag our way up. Pretty incredible.

Incredible, except for the staged train robbery for the special wild west weekend in place of letting us get off at the mountain and walk around.
I bought a redwood tree! I need to find it a pot before it dies in its plastic container. The store clerk lives in SF and said he has been successfully growing three of them, so I’m optimistic.

Closed the day at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk & pier.
Monday

Checked out Golden Gate from the Marin Headlands & Jenna made us embarrass ourselves.

More ridiculousness.

After dinner at Pier 23, timed out perfectly to check out the sunset on the way home.
