It’s What is Happening

So Pavarotti had to go and die on me yesterday. Seeing him perform live was on my list of things to do before I died. Yes, that means it’s impossible for me to die feeling I lived a full life. Thanks, Luciano. Seriously, though, it’s a pretty sad loss for me. At least I have re-runs on PBS.
My friend who was in a terrible wreck a couple months ago is now officially in jail, charged with vehicular manslaughter. I finally got a letter back from him this week. Admittedly, it was a little strange opening a letter with “inmate correspondence” stamped over it 1000 times. So yeah.
Work is kind of killing me. Today I arrived at 7:45am and left at 8:30pm. Nothing like doing the work of three people for 2 weeks. I had to skip art vs art tonight out of exhaustion and a need to rest up for tomorrow, 2nd annual lebfest.
My mom is on her way to croatia. Apparently there’s a PBS special this sunday about the park there with the 11 waterfalls…8pm I believe. Looks pretty gorgeous.
I need to decide where to spend my last week of vacation. It’s times like these that make me hate being single with no close single friends. I don’t have the social skills for solo vacations or rather, the money for vacations that don’t require social skills.
Oh, and I saw the last show of the year for Fun Dumpster last Friday. It was pretty fricken hilarious. I laughed out loud the whole night. Memory keyword: underground turtle fights.
And lastly, I’m still sore that I couldn’t take Johnny up on his offer to have me house-sit for him for 3 weeks…in Amsterdam. That would have been a perfect vacation. Free room & board and a language barrier. Yum.
But now, I shall sleep and try to forgive Luciano and prepare my game face for tomorrow. I won’t lie, I’m already feeling a little spirited. My spray-on tan always makes me cocky. That, and my new job role lets me make executive decisions, and I kind of love it.
And if you’re curious why there’s all the vanity in the photos, they’re my photos for work. The photographer just sent them to me, and I think they’re pretty awesome. He said I had Jim Morrison vibes in the bottom photo. And anyone who knows me, knows I love me some Jim Morrison.
