So, now that I’ve had my beauty sleep, let me tell you about my interesting night. I met up with a brand new set of people (Matt B. & CG ppl) last night, which I was a little nervous about. As soon as I met them at Jake’s I was fine. The prior shot of Vodka may have helped that, but mainly, I believe it kept me from freezing to death during the walk. So, we mainly talked about work and bar stories. The stories were hilariously funny but a bit sad. You know?

Well, we hung out there for a bit. One sip of an Incredible Hulk about made me get sick. I asked the bartender to recommend a drink with spiced rum, but he was at a loss. Lame. Funniest thing happened, though. I happened to glance to the right and I saw this guy I grew up with (Brad?). I hadn’t seen him in years. He didn’t recognize me at first either, so it was a pleasant meeting.

One of our mates left and after awhile we decided to head to Where Else?. It was nice that it wasn’t overflowing with people, and the three of us found a table to stand at. I don’t really remember what we talked about, except for one conversation about 50-cent & Eminem and the necessity to acquire a taste for their new albums. I’d tend to disagree on the Eminem album at least, but I didn’t care enough to debate it. Sometimes it’s best to just let people spout their thoughts.

Well, Mr. Whalen made an appearance with his “smart” glasses, so that was exciting. I don’t know if I was experiencing distorted perceptions, but I swear he’d grown a foot both ways. Prior to that night, I don’t recall ever feeling so midget-ized next to him. He’d clearly played a few rounds of beer pong. *sigh* Well, another person in our posse went home, leaving two of us. I suggested we go watch some beer pong, which my friend seemed reluctant about. So we get over there. I can’t find Evan anywhere…but who do I see? Mr. I-have-stuff-to-do-so-I’m-not-going-out Slack. haha I just stood behind him, and I totally got a deer-in-headlights look when he turned around. It was awesome. Yeah, excuses, excuses. Hehe.

It was all CG people over there it seemed. We had a lovely chat with Hennis. I may have mistakenly gotten Mr. Slack in to a little (joking) trouble with him. Hehe oops. It was all good, though, because he kept saying I was 35. I missed my chance to talk to Mr. Prugh, though. That was probably for the best. I swear this guy I worked with at the Exponent was right next to them all. I exchanged two unsure glances with him. CG posse headed out, so we went to the dance floor. That was really interesting. I was not a fan of the white light, nor some of the people dancing around us. I found myself chuckling at them again. We stayed until they kicked us out and headed to Arby’s. Again, stayed there until they kicked us out. Kind of funny, ending up at the same place we’d initially met a few weeks ago.

So, that’s the detail-less version of my interesting night. I was impressed with myself for going out so blindly.
