I just finished “The Hustler” with Paul Newman. He was wonderful as always. It wasn’t Cool Hand Luke quality, but it was alright. I imagine it would have been better if i hadn’t been thinking about wanting to sleep the last half hour. I’m getting old, I guess. hmm actually, it was the same sort of story as Cool Hand Luke—all about breaking a man’s spirit. Some of the characters were weak, though.

Did i mention I got the 4 Live Aid DVDs for only $20? Yes, I’m still happy about that find.

Oh yes, the reason I posted. There was a fantastic quote in the movie:

“I’m not drunk, I’m lame.”

Yes, she meant crippled, but that meaning rarely applies these days. It’s a great line.

It was a nice time by myself tonight. I’m hoping to go to Knickerbocker tomorrow night, maybe with the fellas. I’d like that, because really, in the end, I’m just one of the guys.
