UPDATE: Mitch took a few photos at the social. I thought I should share this one, as it’s a rare moment to see a child that doesn’t fear me. And I wore a skirt to work today. It *was* a big deal :) I told Amy I was inspired by Ford’s new “Bold Moves” commercials.

Friday was a madhouse. I played way too many roles, but all was better by 4pm. Mitch brought us four delectable flavors of homemade ice cream to enjoy. Then half the office headed to a nearby park for some outdoor fun. We played some kickball, then half the people left, so we played random games with Bryan’s twin boys but mainly just laughed at their antics. I hadn’t played kickball in ages and it rocked! Look at me becoming an outdoor sports fanatic. The new lady at work, Susan, joined us and she was so much fun :) We’re all so excited to have her on board. I was on a team with her, Ben, Mitch, and Mel. We lacked skills but made up for it in spirit dammit!

We eventually made it over to the basketball court and rocked a few games of knock out. I had completely forgotten how that game worked so I struggled. I also struggled b/c I’m such a naturally nice person. One round came down to Mitch and I…his ball flew stray…it was my chance to win the game but without even thinking I stopped the ball and knocked it back to him….he said “ghee, that was nice of you” so then in my head i was like “damn it” and then he beat me. It was a sad display. Truly.

Dave & Sheri showed up late. Sheri rocked the court. The woman is unstoppable from the 3-point line. And Mitch caught the whole thing on film as 5’5”-ish Sheri took down 6’7 Brian in a one-on-one game. It was pretty damn amusing.

And then it was time to go to a photo shoot, so Mitch and I get there with no sign of the event. We had tried to get people to come with us to do some bowling after our shoot but everyone’s a loser and passed it up. We called the client and got no answers. So we stood outside talking and eventually came to the conclusion that “dammit, we’re here. we’re gonna bowl!” He had a buy 2 games, get 2 free so we bowled two games and he kicked my ass. I finally found my groove halfway through game 2. It was soo much fun! We shared our stories from our days in the bowling class back at Purdue. We exchanged lots of disappointed looks at my poor form on the lanes. I was really glad he offered to stick around for a game, because I had my hopes all up that I was gonna get to do some bowling that fine day.

But anyway, today has flown. I slept half of it away and spent the other half at a photo shoot, which seems to be a theme for how I always spend my weekends. But tomorrow, I have big plans to finally clean my apartment, and maybe, if I get my other work done, I’ll go for a bike ride, unless all the great weather was used up on today.
