Went to a complete stranger’s house last night to play some craps. I was nervous during the drive there, and I kept saying “What are you thinking? This is gonna be weird.” Well, I walk in the door, and I know 3/4 the people there haha. Small world. I met up with some people I hadn’t talked to in years. It was so awesome hanging w/ them again! I finally got to talk to this guy that also used to be my neighbor at home and work, but I never knew him well enough to say “hey!” when we passed in the hall. He knew all the people I worked with at Nanohub, and it was so lovely to have someone who knew my boss and could understand why working with him was disturbing. Yes, the one with life-size Xena & Warf cut-outs in his office. *sigh* At least he was a nice man.

I had such a fantastic night! I got to try vanilla vodka at last, too. That went over well. So yeah, I was the rolling queen first game. I’ve never rolled so many 8’s in my life. Second game, I never rolled but I totally owned it. I was exchanging discerning glances with the boys across the table. haha I love pretend competitiveness. But yeah, I ended up with $6K in chips…no one else had a chance. hehe so I won $7. I was so excited. i know, beginner’s luck. My theory is that beginner’s are lucky because they don’t think too much.

Such a fun group of people, though. I felt like I’d known them forever…hehe and talked to them like I had, too. Drinking may have played a role in that.

Bad news is I had to give up my minivan this morning, and when I got in my car, I felt like I was sitting directly on the road. Good news is gas went down $.10 in the 20 min it took to exchange vehicles. Hey, a buck’s a buck.

Time to get some work done.

Oooh yeah, my mom’s singing in the choir for Sandi Patty today. Hopefully someone will take pics. She’s so excited heh.
