Wednesday evening I attended my county fair’s 2nd annual hog wrestling event. My sister’s team (last year’s team pictured) did pretty awful this year, but my little brother’s team won the event, getting the pig on the barrel in 37 seconds. They won $50. I was so proud.

Friday evening I met up with my Carrie to go to the demolition derby. Before that, though, my little brother wanted to ride the mechanical bull. Well, apparently a parent’s signature was needed, so I was recruited for the job. Luckily, Kyle mentioned his friend’s name or else I would have had to ask the name of my own “son”. hehe and Carrie walked up right as I was signing and said, “What are you signing for…oooh right, you’re their mom.” ha, nice save Carrie. When Kyle went for a second round, I could read his lips from a distance saying, “My mom already signed.” He could have at least said “guardian”. Jeez.

By the time we walked over to the derby, the feature was just beginning (that’s the final showdown). Since Carrie and I are VIP, we walked straight up to the announcer’s booth and watched from there. I was rooting for the guy that was riding without a passenger. He ended up winning. He beat the reigning champion, Ed, who seems to win every year. Speaking of Ed, Carrie and I decided we should hire him when planning our derby car for next year. Oh yes, Carrie and I decided it was something we needed to participate in. I have the hookup with all the guys to help through my brother. We’ve wanted to be in it since HS but we just never have. So if we actually pull through & participate, I’ll be sure to let everyone know, so you can watch us kick ass.

I sincerely intended to take pictures of all these events but I left my camera in the car. Oops. As soon as my mom’s film is developed, I can get hog wrestling pics up, but until then, you’ll have to enjoy the pic of my sister’s team from last year.

Also, speaking of 4-H, my mom entered some of my photography in the open class at the fair without telling me. I got 3 firsts and a champion, earning me $6. That win should move me up the social status ladder.
