Well, I think I can pretty much say I got a second job at Purdue. The wage they offered was pretty good. I’ll be redesigning and maintaining nanohub.org and likely creating some PHP modules for their existing CMS. It will be a learning experience, for sure. It’s funny. Somehow I ended up with one Purdue job with only Microsoft technology and another one without a single Microsoft technology. I’ll be diversified by the end of it all.

I’m hoping I can do well with this job. It could lead to much greater things. I’m still just in shock at the power of recommendation. I never applied for this job, and I said I barely new PHP, which is all they use, but they were all like “well, we’re gonna find out how to hire you.” Pretty unbelievable. That one 2-week job I did, my single PHP project, will likely be the sole work experience that lands me a full-time job. Of course, I got paid a bit of nothing for that little project, but who says things don’t pay off in the end.

I was figuring my projected income for the year, and I must admit, I said a little “Go me.” If I could somehow keep the $10K I pay in rent, I’d be livin’ it up. Thus, why I need to be investing it in a house. And with this latest job, my talk of becoming a homeowner may finally become a reality. Sure, I’ll have 60-hour weeks here for awhile but hey, it’s worth it. Plus, we all know I have nothing better to do. hehe. My mom was a bit bothered that I was going to somehow manage to make in 6 months what it takes her 3 years to earn working full-time (they call her everyday) as a substitute teacher.

I don’t like gloating, so sorry if this post casts that impression, but I’m quite proud of myself right now. I keep telling Snippy that I’m going to get her a yard to play in, and dammit, I won’t let her down.

Oh, and I got the prints of some of my digital photography in today, and they look amazing. I’m thrilled to death with the quality. I can’t wait to go pre-cut matte shopping. I have so many ideas. I think I have my photo business name picked out too, but that will be a secret until I get the logo done. The lady who is lending me part of her booth at the covered bridge festival thinks my work will sell easily. I’m not quite that confident, but I do think I have unique items to offer, and selling the finished package has always been my strong point. haha *thinks back to 112* Burton: “The project isn’t so great, but your display is awesome…have a high B” heh Burton, I almost miss him. Ha yeah.

Alright well enough rambling for now. However, one last thing. I type damn fast. I just realized some words sound like the press of one key. Cool, so I’ve got mad secretarial skills to fall back on. Too bad my name’s not Sally.
