It was one year ago today that I signed the papers and Snippy was officially mine to take home. Read about it here. Since I don’t know her actual birthday, this seemed liked a good time to celebrate. She’s the big 8. Well, one year later, she no longer wakes me up every hour of the night (thank goodness), but she does still get just as excited every time I come home (thank goodness). She’s also learned how to escape the fence. I caught her in the act this morning, since I blocked her tunnel with a huge rock and she was trying to claw it out of the way. As big of a pain as she can be, I dunno know what I’d do without her. So happy birthday to her.

Work went well yesterday. We got a new programmer on board which I’m pretty excited about. Also, we had a presentation by the pres and a sales guy about their sales strategy, which was really interesting. They talk about Covey a lot which amuses me, because I see more and more that Burton was dead-on about so much. Anyway, I already have such a good understanding of the entire company, which is amazing considering that after 7 months at my lost job, I still was still unsure of my actual employer’s name.

I had my first social hour with some people there. I have a bad tendency of sitting at my laptop with headphones the entire day. One developer showed me a flash app he was working on and the AS behind it, which fascinated me and spurred me to break in to a brag session about another flash bad ass i know. Of course, the guy at work was basically ready to hire him, especially after I said he was the best “teammate” type person I’d ever worked with.

Well, now I get to call a lawyer, and try to figure out how to form an LLC. We decided on MJK Properties, LLC. The siblings didn’t like my McAcres idea. hehe. I think I get to write a hardcore partnership agreement. That should be nothing but exciting.

Ah yes, and it’s memorial day weekend…does anyone get the Indy 500 during the day? It’s just not cool watching at night. I want to have a cookout and watch with a bunch of people who aren’t really hardcore fans but pretend to be for a few hours.

UPDATE: Totally forgot quote of the day from yesterday:

“I’ve survived my whole life without nuts. I don’t see why I need to start now.”

Haha Justin’s response to peer pressure to eat any sort of nut, which he’s quite allergic to. I didn’t catch on to the joke until Derek said “oh, really?”
