Ok, I know I’m a little behind in hearing this album. Story of my life :) I went to Best Buy last night and bought Loretta Lynn - Van Lear Rose, Bright Eyes - I’m Wide Awake It’s Morning, and Green Day - American Idiot. I chuckled at the variety when I was paying. It helped keep me from punching the checkout girl who was too busy gossiping to be helpful.

So, I got in the car and put in the Green Day album and cranked it up. I tell you what. I went crazy. I drove as slow as possible the whole way home. I was loving every song. I was trying to play drums during Holiday, which made it better I was driving slowly. So, I still got home too fast, only making it through track 4. I turned off the car but sat in there and jammed for two more songs. Such an in-car album.

I was amazed at the different “movements” in the songs. There’s practically no pause between tracks, and it’s like a rock opera. There’s the anthem, the ballads…it’s a bit of everything. Have I mentioned that this album rocks my world? I love the lyrics, the energy, the guitar, the drums…I can’t pick a favorite track, but the “dearly beloved” part of Jesus of Suburbia definitely sticks out. The first half of the album is the best. And I think I may have a crush on Billie Joe, though I recall hearing he’s married and an awesome dad, but as Rachel would say, “he’s SO hot!” heh

I also stopped at Blockbuster last night, and this one employee was cracking me up, check this:

guy: hey..
me: umm hi *awkward pause*
guy: uh…can I help you find something?
me: no…Thanks though *keeps walking*
guy: oh! Hey…*I turn* do you know about our new end of late fees?
me: yeah…thanks
guy: oh cool. Well…umm…let me know if I can help you at all
me: alrighty, thanks *smile*

So, I get to the checkout, and a different guy says, “OMG this movie [City of God] is so good”. He goes on to give me his list of other good subtitled movies, which was cool. The guys always give me recommendations and tell me to let them know how I like some movies. Hehe, as if I’m going to run in to them to tell them. But yeah, Blockbuster seems to be the place to get hit on. If only any of these chaps remotely interested me. I’m a picky girl.

I forgot to mention something with Acid House. The song at the end of the movie, “I didn’t know what time it was”...well, the pace and style go nearly perfect with the song I wrote. I’m trying to find an instrumental version I can work with, but so far, midi’s best I can find. I officially started my lyrics book today. Let’s see if I remember to keep it with me. Hehe

Oh, and did you hear about the new movie coming out, “Diary of a Mad Black Woman”? Ahem. *cough*
