Got the Vaio

My obsessiveness actually paid off for something. I was checking my Fedex tracking, when I read what I most feared. It said “delivered” and I didn’t have it. After a small panic, I read that it was signed for by “front door”, so I thought, “umm, surely not,” because I’d been home all day, sitting right by the front door. Nevertheless, I opened the front door and there it was. I don’t think it had been there an hour. Thank goodness it was a halfway decent day. Jeez. It seems my signature should be required for something that damn valuable when I live right on a street corner. Guess not.
Anyway, I haven’t done much playing. I’ve been struggling to share files. The Internet connection works fine, and I can see my computer in the network but it doesn’t want to talk anymore than that. It has to be something related to the router, firewall, or Norton. It’s kind of weird about playing DVD’s but that might be a software issue. Actual playback is really solid though. The display is gorgeous, almost too bright. My NIN DVD has never looked so good. I’m going to install a game once i get file sharing working, just for kicks. I’m curious to know what it can do.
Anyway, it’s lovely to sit in my lazy boy in the dark with my 2 mini Xmas trees. I need to get a wireless router. Luckily, since I’m a Girl Scout and always prepared, I had a 25 ft Ethernet cable on hand :) I’m holding off on using the battery until I can let it run dead without worries. I want to get every possible ounce out of it. That’s enough talk for today.
