Well, my grandma’s visitation and funeral went really well. My grandma looked amazing. She looked 30 years younger than last time I’d seen her. Everyone was shocked.

Apparently, there was a poor choice of words in the obituary because it said: “Brother Don Perry and Mindy McCutchan officiating” I was unaware of this announcement, so as people said, “So you’re helping out with the service?” I just assumed they were referring to my eulogy. However, as the word “service” kept being used, I was wondering what was up, especially when one lady was like “Oh, well I didn’t think that’s what you went to school for.” haha yeah…Mindy preaching would consist of me randomly flipping throgh the bible, asking people to suggest verses, and then asking them how to navigate the book. I stayed up last night and got the eulogy written, finishing it up minutes before we were left. My mom just shook her head. Everyone really liked it, pleasant mix of laughs and tears.

It was a nice service, though, and all the neighbors had a fantastic dinner waiting for us when we returned. It was very nice. I’m eating leftovers as I type.

Well, one piece of disturbing news. Apparently, someone had my grandmother cast an absentee ballot prior to her passing. She has been in a nursing home for a year and a half. The picture of Bush is still on her refrigerator at home, and she has likely never heard of Kerry. Oh yeah, and she doesn’t know her family and she was on about 200 medications and yet, they let my grandmother vote. My dad was so pissed. He wanted to yell at the lady who had her vote and tell her that was about the dumbest thing she could have ever done. Yeah, and my dad is a republican. Even he hates Bush. So watch out Kerry supporters, the nursing homes may conquer all.
