What a lovely day I just had. I had a second great Spindig in a row (despite more taunting for drinking Shirley Temple’s). Cerra always has my back, though. “Mindy doesn’t drink but she’s still my friend.” hehe Her approval is gold in this town. It was good times especially since the Nike team finally had some good representation.
Well, this morning got off to an early start. I was out of bed by 7:30 am, ordered my new area rug by 9:00 am, and got my haircut at 10. The stylist girl is definitely a keeper. She does a good job and seems to genuinely laugh at my jokes.
I stopped in Fireside Camera on a whim, since they were closed last time I went by. I was in there 10 minutes, and somehow walked out with a $70 camera bag. It was the first one I saw. I held it for 5 minutes and bought it. I validated my impulse buy when I discovered it has a built in rain-shield that I can pull out. So rad. (And I later saw the same bag for $83 at Best Buy.) It holds my camcorder, too.
It wasn’t even 11am, and I’d already spent over $250. Really, the haircut was the only item I *needed*.

So I picked up my car and hit the road for McInnis Park in San Rafael. A bunch of people were playing softball, and I promised I would go since I refused to play. It was such a beautiful day. Mid-70s, clear skies. It was a great day for a drive.
I hung around for both softball games. It was great times. I took photos through the first game, and just chilled through the second, catching some sun (seems I had a sunblock failure on my shoulders, though). It was really fun. We lost the first game 19-0, and the second, a less depressing 8-2, I think. We did have one run on the first game, but Patrick got so excited that he forgot it was an “out” if he stepped on home plate. Well, he didn’t step on it. He jumped on it. Up & down. We were all yelling, “NOooooo!!” So great. I had been told we were the “fun” team in the league.

The crew also taught another swede how to play softball. Well, they tried. He tried running on a foul hit, but he got 1 run in later. We kind of decided we have to shoot a hair commercial with him before he leaves in August.
I managed to grab a few shots of the park area around the field. It was serene.

We wrapped up the day with a trip to Sizzler. Haha. Yeah.
I noticed a Best Buy on my way home, so I swung in. It was my first Best Buy in CA experience. Crazy. My CF card reader died during my Nashville trip, though, so I had to get a hook-up. I decided to treat myself to a new CD for the drive home. I saw the new Killers out front, so I grabbed it. I’m not quite through the first listen. I don’t love it at this point, but I do enjoy it. Would have been good if I’d had it for a longer leg of the trip. “Spaceman” was sort of a trippy song to hear as I was crossing Golden Gate, though.
Anyway, it was a great day. I had planned to do some waterfall exploring this weekend, and I might try that tomorrow. I am quite beat, though.
Memorable Quotes:
“POR FAVOR!”
“Sabotage does not sound like Kid Rock!”
“Mindy, look me in the eyes…focus, eyes…now tell me: karaoke or the Mission?”
“I’m going home.”
(Tim said it was so awesome :)
