Well, I went home yesterday to attend my high school’s 5th annual talent show. It’s an event held each year to raise money for a special cause. This year all the proceeds went to a local family who lost their home in a fire. It was eventful as usual. It’s fun to see teachers and students perform. I almost didn’t attend because I was counting on a lot of my high school classmates attending, and I’m not one for reunions. Nevertheless, I attended to support and have a night of fun, and as expected, I encountered many classmates. Talking to Tiffany was probably the highlight, because I’d had no contact with her since graduation day 4 years ago and we were fairly good friends in HS, so that was a pleasant surprise. I went to the the Thirty-six Saloon with a bunch of them for a bit. I entertained them and they were sad to see me go. I really was the life of the party hehe. I think I’m the only person that has changed at all since HS. It was weird. I mean it was as if we were all still in HS again. Just odd.

I left early to go to another good friend’s house, because I’d planned to go there all along. Well, I had a marvelous time. It was just smashing hehe (inside joke). We watched ‘Run Lola Run’ & ‘Following’. My friend was amazed at my excellent movie picks. It was nice to have someone who could appreciate them. Well, I ended up staying at his house much longer than intended, but I just got so wrapped up in the conversation that I lost track of time. He is without a doubt the most intelligent guy I’ve ever met and still manages to be cool and genuinely friendly at the same time. It’s a rare combination.

My mom couldn’t believe how late I got home the next day. She asked, “WHAT did you do???” Me: “Well, we talked at the kitchen table like 2 old people.” It was great times, though. I love talking, as the poor guy found out. I like listening, too, though. It’s so interesting for me to hear about people’s lives and their interpretations of how it has affected them. Even though I’m fairly anti-social, people do intrigue me and some more than others. I’m very glad I went home. I hope I get to see more of him throughout the summer. We have tentative plans to play tennis with a mutual friend, the only one of us who actually knows how to play the game :) It’ll be fun if it happens.
