Look at that clever title. It’s late. Just got back from the Interpol concert. It was soo worth selling my soul to ticketmaster. Although, it didn’t sell out so I could have purchased at the door. Oh well. It was a fantastic evening. Calla opened. They were good…there was one song I really liked. Interpol rocked my world though. They sounded so good and played all my fave tunes. Andy from work joined me…might have actually found myself a concert buddy. Go me. Show was at the Murat Egyptian room. It has sort of redeemed itself as a venue for me. At least there weren’t chairs this time, but $6 drinks…seriously. Ridiculous.

Songs played: Pioneer to the Falls, Evil, Narc, Take You On a Cruise, Heinrich Maneuver, Slow Hands, Not Even Jail, Stella was a diver and she was always down, NYC, C’Mere, Length of Love, Obstacle 1, Hands Away, Rest My Chemistry, Mammoth (maybe on this one…)

So Sunday night was my first try as an emcee. It was a whole different ballgame, and I was a complete wreck. I think I’ve done like 11 shows total including that one, which I’m pretty sure the guy doing the booking hasn’t realized. 11 times is really not that much to be on stage and be promoted to a paying gig. I must be a natural… :) But yeah, I got to meet Tommy Johnigan & Geoff Brown, who have both played some role in Last Comic Standing & Comedy Central. Cool to chill in the green room before the show like a pro. For being my first time, it didn’t go horribly, but it was by no means great. I really had to get up there and experience it once to even know how to prepare for it in the future. I had taken my spot in the middle of the show for granted. Things are a lot rockier at the very start. I was happy for the opportunity to try it out though. Seems I’ll be hosting open mic night next Tuesday, so I’ll get another chance, but this time in front of all my peers and not just successful comedians. The latter adds an insane amount of pressure. It’s like doing karaoke to open up for a popular rock band.

Anyway, it’s late and this is all quite boring but I always thank myself later for keeping it documented.
