Experience of a Beautiful Era

It seems to be impossible to Google your way to a picture of the typical guy you see on today’s commercials. I saw a promo for Budweiser’s True Music, which starts with a guy getting dressed in a green tailored shirt, and it was hot. The portrayal of men on commercials has evolved over time:
- No shirts, big muscles, jeans, and wavy hair
- Preppy. Horizontal striped polo and khakis with nice tan.
- And now…semi-skinny pale boys with tailored suits, vertical stripes, and bright colors
Thank you style gods for finally delivering what I’ve always desired. It’s the class of the 40s with the bold colors and prints of the 70s. The hair is probably the main part that’s new to this era…short and sort of care free.
Anyway, I find myself falling in love with men on TV these days. I mean seriously, it’d be very difficult for me to ever turn down a guy dressed like that (with a good face and such of course heh). Maybe it’s shallow, but let’s face it, looks & style are important. Of course, the odds of finding a guy with my desired style who shares common interests with me may be difficult. I never dreamed I’d become such a sucker for clothes, but man, I want to seize this era before it goes away.
The clothing, print/web design, and even the music…we’re in the middle of something beautiful. It’s simple, smart, and sophisticated. I want to take it all in.
