Eventful Day

I spent my afternoon standing on my back step watching the storms roll through. We were under a tornado warning the entire day; the siren sounded twice. I saw the starts of some funnel clouds overhead, but nothing ever developed. It got really rough later in the afternoon, to the point where I piled blankets in the bathroom. It was my place to run to…after I saw the tornado. It got greenish and the wind was howling, and the rain was so heavy that I could barely see across the pond. It was insane, but no damage or anything to report nearby, just over in the eastern side of the state. The picture is of the sky at 11pm after the storms had gone through. The picture does not do the scene justice at all (plus I’m too shaky for no-flash pics)
Here are 2 other random pics I took while I was out. Well, same pic, different camera settings. I think they’re both awesome, considering the viewfinder was pitch black, so they were “surpise” pics.

I didn’t watch the Indy 500. I saw that it got rained out early. I was very pleased to see that 3 of the 4 Andretti team members finished 2nd-4th. That’s awesome! Too bad they couldn’t have gone up one notch. So close. I’ve supported the Andretti family since I was a little girl. I don’t know, there’s just something about them that I love. I always swore that Mario was the diner guy on 90210. hehe.
Oh, and it’s not funny…but well, it is…my grandma has been in a wheelchair for about a month at the nursing home. The nursing home called my parents this evening to inform them that some lady (in another wheelchair) apparently attempted to “pass” my grandma in the hallway after dinner, and my grandma reached over and slapped her (on the arm, I think). haha and the lady slapped her back on the arm! Cat fight at the nursing home. Sheesh. The nurses had a conversation with my grandma later after the storms had passed:
Nurse: Did you hit this lady?
G’ma: Nooooo
Nurse: Did the lady hit you?
G’ma: Nooooo
Yes, Alzheimer’s. It’s sad, but I suppose you have to see the humor of the situation.
P.S. My new, improved homemade blog is coming soon, complete with commenting capabilities for my non-existent audience :)
