Groundhog’s Day seemed too appropriate of a day not to post my limited amount of news.

I’m still sick. I went to the doctor today. Finding a doctor was a complete pain so I just went with whichever one called me back. Some medical group returned my call, so I didn’t know who my doctor was until I shook his hand this morning. Turns out, he’s not only from Indiana but he knows my hometown. Funny stuff. We talked as much about his family tree as my medical history but that’s okay. It was amusing.

I had my big date this weekend. I was really looking forward to it. Well, I wouldn’t say it was a complete disaster but it wasn’t great. I knew within the first 1-minute that I would rather just go home. It’s not even worth exploring the details. Perks of the evening: chicken lasagna is delicious (enjoying leftovers right now) & there is a female bartender in North Beach who will give me free Shirley Temple’s all night. Moral of the story: why do we have build-a-bear’s and not build-a-boyfriend’s?

Sunday was a great day. Watched the super bowl at Cerra’s where there were bacon-wrapped sausages, which made my month. Chill day. Walked on down to Amoeba to pick up the new Franz Ferdinand, Tonight, which I’m loving. Can’t stop tapping my foot. On the way, a man on the street asked me on a date and continued to offer to take me to the state of my liking. If only non-homeless men with teeth showed the same enthusiasm.

I gave butterscotch brownies to the guys at Amoeba. I can’t decide if it was that act or just buying a CD when no one else is that brought me my great karma. As I rounded the corner to my apartment, I noticed a pile of at least 70 vinyls. A lovely boy, already with his arms full, stopped by to ask if I needed help carrying them somewhere. I explained they were just here for the taking. I think I got all the really good ones but it was still a good collection. In case you’re wondering, I was too oblivious to try to get any more info out of this cute boy that stopped to talk to me. We took guesses as to why the albums were there and then I walked away to my apartment. Tyler was like “what is wrong with you?” And now missed connections apparently requires a login and phone authentication. wtf.

Anyway, I’m watching Blade Runner as requested by my friends. Apparently I missed some key points in film & music history.

Movie day at work tomorrow, though. Yay!
