Well, when you fall asleep at 6:30p and wake up at 12:22 am, it kinda screws up your evening, so I’m taking this opportunity to write about my new favorite show, Dead Like Me (alternate site). Justin hooked me up with Seasons 1 & 2 (missing 3 last episodes), and I’ve watched all 24 or so over the span of the last couple weeks. It’s so addictive.

I feel like the main character and her little sister are living my life, so that provides some major insight. Beyond that, the concept is just plain clever. A girl gets hit by a flying toilet seat from an explosion in space and dies at age 18. Instead of being sent to her “happy place,” she becomes a grim reaper. She gets a new identity and still has to find a job because reaping is a pro bono position. She struggles accepting death and tries to make up for all the missed experiences from when she was alive, keeping a watchful eye on her family all the while.

On the surface, the show is just a funny, ironic comedy, but underneath it reveals hints at peoples troubled pasts and the different ways they deal with it. Quality writing in every episode. It’s so enjoyable! As a bonus, Mason (Callum Blue) is terribly sexy and British and an unsuccessful version of my perfect man. :)

So yeah, amazing series. Definitely check it out on ShowTime or on the Internet if you’re also ShowTime-less.

Random side notes: I utilized Lafayette FreeCycle for the first time to day and got myself a quality printer stand with shelves, which freed up my desk area considerably. Awesome idea.

I also confirmed my attendance at the 5-year class reunion that’s next week, despite my better judgment, but I did mention “bring extra prozac & zoloft” in my RSVP. haha my one friend and I decided to go together. She says there’s strength in numbers. We’ve decided to weave a tail of lies, presented with a dose of sarcasm, which will make everyone laugh, but in reality we’ll just be making fun of them. I haven’t decided if i want to be engaged or spent time in a mental institution. Maybe both…that could be where I met my fiance.

Well, going to a bluegrass festival this weekend. I plan to have photos and hopefully get a chance to play the banjo. Look forward to that.
