Cool Enough for a Mac?
It was almost a year to the day that I was having my struggle to decide between the vaio and the powerbook, but it may now be possible to have the best of both.
So the mac mini had been sold, but Derek now has his old Powerbook for sale. Oh the temptations. It’s one of those things I know I shouldn’t purchase, because I don’t need it, but he’s selling it for a price that’s pretty hard to pass up. Only thing is I’d need to purchase a new battery for it…which are a bit costly and ill-reviewed.
Derek forgot to bring it in to work today, but I’ll get it from him Thursday. He’s letting me take it home to see if I like it, since I haven’t really used a mac in about 4 years.
And completely unrelated, it seems Von’s…the coolest store on campus is on fire currently and Harry’s is fine so far…weird. So sad.
But yes, the mac. I imagine it as my own lil creative station, maybe a decent way to manage my already 15gb of photos…that need sorted, maybe deleted…clearly external HD is still gonna be necessary.
Gosh, I was so convinced but writing this post is talking me out of it. grr, i don’t regret the vaio. I’ve needed its battery life. ugh, but this is still a big chunk of change I could actually save or invest in my camera. I’m totally being a gadget whore. It’s not entirely my fault I must have digital companions. I have tried. ooh I did manage to find a taker for BB King…my myspace racing pal. And the sis is making us all a big meal before it which is very exciting.
But I fear Derek will be right. He said after using it, I’ll do one of 2 things: buy his or lay down the cash for a brand new one. hehe. I may pay a visit to Plato’s Closet and get some cash for some clothes hah
Anyway, I’m sleepy and this was a longer ramble than intended, as usual.
ooh but just saw footage of the fire. Smoke is huge above campus…I think Von’s is going to be gone…been burning for an hour. :( and now i hear more sirens passing by…
ooh but yeah, Okkervil River and Supergrass…good stuff.
