(original post lost…attempt to recreate)

Friday night I headed up to Lafayette for a Clayton Miller Band show at Java Roaster. It was a little strange with no LD and Cole only singing and some new guy on drums, but it was still incredible. I have some video that I’ve been too lazy to post. I got my perfect chai fix though and hung out with my mom for a bit since she happened to be in Lafayette for the night.
Saturday my sis came up and we spent a lot of time shopping…Christmas shopping that I likely never would have accomplished without her coming up. I refuse to go to Hollister alone. The employees always think they’re making me cry but really, my senses are just overwhelmed by the pumped in cologne.
We headed down to the Vogue that night to see the Black Keys with Dr. Dog. Dr. Dog was absolutely incredible. Fantastic live show. They were right on par with the Black Keys. Talked to them after show and asked one of them to tell me which CD to buy. That’s a nice thing to be able to do.
Black Keys rocked just like last time. We had a great view and it was just as packed as MMJ. One of their new songs accelerated to such a pace that the place just went crazy. None of us could even rock our heads fast enough. It was definitely the euphoric moment of the evening. The time before the encore nearly turned in to a riot with stomping, chanting & clapping. It was pretty intense. Great show but I’m glad I was able to catch them at the Music Mill last year with a smaller crowd.
Only a month til Andrew Bird and a couple weeks til Margot!
