I hung out with Bryan, our CEO, today. He went around with me while I took photos. I drove my sweet Neon with rear spoiler, randomly pulling over as I saw fit for some photos. Then, there was this very cool bridge, so I had him drive while I hung out the window. I still couldn’t manage stellar shots of it. This lovely photo was taken from out the window…some med center.

Well, as he was driving, he saw these very big houses that he thought we should take photos of. I was pretty sure they were private, as they were behind a big golf course, and this was confirmed by the security at the entrance. Well, he decided I could get some from the road, but really, the trees were blocking. He pointed to a shelter halfway across the course and said, “Well, couldn’t you get some from there.” “Umm yes, if i want to get arrested” So after he agreed to honk at the sign of security, I took off running across the open golf course, where, yes, people were playing, and made my way to the shelter. I stood behind some bushes, got the shots, and scurried back to the car with visions of security chasing me. Well, Bryan’s wife had called while I was gone so when she asked what he was up to, he got to say “Watching Mindy run across a golf course.” Such rebels we were.

We also walked around a shopping center that was all under construction, but no one said a word to us. While we were looking for a new community, we found the road gradually shrinking and getting worse. Bryan was like, “Looks like we may just run in to sand.” haha well in a couple more miles, we sure did. The road just ended and became sand, complete with a lil portapotty. It was hilarious.

It was a very fun day, and as we headed to the airport, so I could drop him off, he said, “Mindy, I’ve had a lot of fun hanging out with you.” hehe I told him he wasn’t so bad himself. He said earlier that I seem so shy, but he realized that once you get me out and about, I’m really funny. See, someone important thinks I’m funny!

Later that afternoon, I made arrangements to photograph a new golf course that was being constructed. I got a personal golf cart tour of the entire course by the course manager. He gave me all the history on how they named it and all the details of how it was gonna differ from other courses. It’s 1200 acres, which is insane for a golf course. He told me there would never be another one like it ever built. It was really pretty, and it was such a lovely day, but I was not entirely pleased with my photos. Courses are harder to photograph than I’d thought about.

But I think we’re pretty much wrapped up with required photos so tomorrow will get to be relaxed random exploring. I want to hit the beaches at sunset and the lil cafes in the evening. I’m going to track down the bird preserve area in the afternoon. I saw a bunch of bald eagles flying around. Only one day left to capture the essence of Florida. I plan to make the most of tomorrow which means getting bed early tonight. I’m quite sore from all the walking, but it’s nice being so out & about. I think even if it were cold, I’d enjoy this trip just as much. I’ve met so many new people, seen a new countryside, and heard lots of stories. It’s going to be weird returning to the daily grind, especially since mom tells me snow is in store by Wednesday.
