Well, it’s about that time ladies and gents. Yes, my next birthday…clear your calendars and empty your wallets. You know I’m worth it all. haha okay enough kidding around.

Every year, my birthday falls around a busy time in my life. This year shall be no different, but I hope to manage some celebrations to make up for last year’s big disaster. My sister and I have birthdays 3 days apart, so we plan to celebrate ours together this year. We’re looking for suggestions, so don’t be shy.

Maybe I’m old-fashioned but I enjoy receiving birthday cards in the mail, especially ones with a personal note, not just a signature. I never expect any, but occasionally, I get a pleasant surprise. It’s kinda silly because I become a little kid around my birthday…I glance out the window, hoping to see the mail lady coming around. “Oh, Mr. Postman…” yeah you know the song. Well, today, I looked outside in time to see her carrying this large package with stickers and such all over it. I don’t know why I’m sharing this…but I went to my peep hole at the door and prayed that she would leave it at my door. No such luck. I didn’t even get a bill today.

But I have had some pleasant surprises in my life, so I can count those towards my bday gifts. I’ve gotten 2 additional jobs this semester. Yesterday, I officially became a TA for a CS class. I’m getting so much better about not over-thinking things. Normally, I would convince myself I’m not worthy of the position or that I couldn’t do a good job. Now, I just say “yes, when do i start?”. I need to stop that though, or I’ll get myself overbooked with class work starting to pick up and all. But anyway, my first day is this Tuesday at 7:30am. Wish me luck!

Last night, I hung out with the guys. We went to the Lafayette Brewing Co….great place! Best and biggest catfish I’ve ever had…oh and I hear they have good beer too ;) I’m not sure why I enjoy hanging out with guys. They can sometimes just be mean, but maybe that’s what I like. It’s a nice challenge and always a new experience.

Back to work and to my 1.5 gb of new music…fun times.
