Baby Steps

So yesterday, I made a big pseudo-confession to a friend of mine. It was all handled gracefully, and I even got a second return call from it. And that’s all I’m gonna say about that. Just mentioning it for the record.
After that experience, I headed up to Lebanon for dinner at the Kingman’s. Liz & Eric were there and it was great times! The Kingmans are my personal self-esteem team. Despite my dreams of being a comedian being crushed the other night, Alex tells me he’s been replaying some of the things I said that night and laughing to himself. I asked him what exactly I said, but I don’t think he realized I was serious since he provided no specifics.
But it’s nice to hear from him, Amy, and Mitch that I was not the loud, obnoxious drunken girl I made myself out to be. Or I was, but I was at least funny, so that other stuff didn’t matter. Honestly, I must be so funny that I just scare attractive, single men away. You just can’t tame my awesomeness.
Oh right, I should mention that my mom actually visited me Sunday. I gave her the full tour. We happened across David & Alex in their yard as we were driving so I got to visit baby Zoe. She’s still quite the sleeper. We had a yum meal at the Library, and my mom was all impressed at my mad navigating skills. “I can’t believe you know all these backroads already!” You learn things like that when you’re an explorer.
I’m trying to keep up w/ my quotes of the day, since I’ve been an utter failure at having post photos.
Quotes of the Last 2 Days
“Did you know that when you heat them [peppers] up they get hotter?”
“That’s usually how it works.”
“We’re basically going to have a big bro/lil sis relationship that borders on incest.”
And in completely unrelated news, is anyone else freaked out by Oksana Baul on Master of Champions? That is beyond being disturbed by the show itself.
