All Hail the Black Keys

Several months ago, I heard a few tracks from The Black Keys’ last album and loved them. I just bought their new album, Rubber Factory. I hadn’t heard a single track prior to buying hehe I’m getting adventurous. It’s fabulous! The Lengths is a beautiful song. The bottleneck/slide-style guitar in the track reminds me a lot of My Morning Jacket. Most of the other tracks have a heavy blues base. I definitely recommend Thickfreakness as well. I hope to buy it soon. The Black Keys will be on Letterman this Wednesday. Check’em out.

I spent half my life at Michael’s today trying to get frames and such. Only one of my purchases was initially intended. The rest were more “ooh I would like that on my wall.” I got a print of my favorite Van Gogh painting, Cafe Terrace by Night. I can’t decide where to hang it. I also got 2 small prints of Steven Meyers’ work. He does the x-ray photography of flowers and such. I got silver edged floating frames for them. They look awesome. I wanted the gigantic framed print on the wall but $100 was out of my budget for the day. I’m trying to decide on a huge print for above my fireplace and in my living room. Some Georgia O’Keefe work is a strong possibility.
I’ve also decided to make my own curtains. I was looking at fabric online, and I’ve been sketching designs. Bad thing is I know they’re gonna look better in my head. I’m going to have lots of stripes, nice simple prints, and bold colors. I found this amazing gold pinstripped white sheer fabric today but it was $20/yd. Ouch. I have to wait for a fabric sale and for when I have more time and extra funds.
Eek! No scrubs or Father of the Pride tonight. The TV gods hate me.
